You look wonderful tonight

Maybe it is just us, but we think Dad looks wonderful tonight. This is him about 8 p.m. tonight. We spent another good hour with him after a very quiet and restful day. We sang, talked, cried and sang some more. We again had Mom, Cassie, Michael, Karen and Kevin in the house. We even sang some barbershop tags and the one song we know - America the Beautiful. We actually got the harmony right. This stuff was taught to us by our dad from about 1977.
I watched the Georgia Tech vs Miami game with him for a while as well. Another special night.

What a great picture of Joe today! I first met him at a play that he and my mom were in here at Carillon. We had front row seats and laughed so hard all night! If mom was 20 years younger she would have tried to steal him away from Mary Anne! She loved you guys and I do too. What a blessing that you all have this time together.

Dear Coburn Family,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, right now I am giving you the biggest and warmest group hug you have ever had, I hope you feel the love.
Joe, my friend I am going to miss you. Because of you Bob and I joined the theater guild and grew in a new way, what fun. I have always admired your gift of gab and the way you could tell a story. You are truley gifted and used it well. There is so much to say but I will end with Thank you for touching my life, I feel I am a better person for it. Now this hug is only for you and me. I love you, Joe.

Joe and Mary Anne

Thanks, again, for your great hospitality while leading our small group. It has always been a pleasure to have you both sharing your perspective. Further...you have been great with the pork chops on the grill! :-0

Praying for you daily.

Joe, Mary Anne and Family, many thanks to you for sharing your blog and keeping me updated. I check it often and Joe, my dear friend, I pray for you daily. It might be better if you prayed for me, it seems to me your path is pretty clear. Love you and I will carry your memory forever.

Joe,

Thanks again for calling me a few weeks ago when you heard that my father had died. Very thoughtful of you. As I told you then, we are praying for you on a daily basis.

Remember when we were having dinner in downtown Chicago (Palmer House??)and the wine glass exploded. Must have been your electric personality because, heaven knows, it wasn't mine.

Joe: We thank God every day for the impact you have had on us -- especially being my (Tom's) Christian brother before we moved from Carillon. We find ourselves striving to live by the many examples we witnessed of you and your faith. Our love and prayers are being sent ever so passionately to you, Mary Anne, and your entire family.

Joe,
What a wonderful smile in your picture. Your smile is what everyone always talks about. I'll always remember the encouragement you gave me in Carillon's 1st play 'California Suite'. I also remember one time you said you were not afraid because of your strong faith. I certainly admire that strength. Mary Anne and you are so great for each other. Thanks for being my friend. My best to Mary Anne.
